Far out time has just flown away from me! I have unfortunately neglected parts of my blog as I had been preparing Numbs release, and have also been finishing my standalone novel, Camouflage. Throw in the usual everyday-life stuff, and Christmas has come and gone as well...

So... with all of that, here is one of my favourite segments, and another edition of Best Ask the Book Blogger. I want to thank this blog for taking the time ( many months ago) to answer my questions and also the many MANY blogs who shed the light on us authors. We love you. We adore you. And this is just a small (very small) way to throw the spotlight your way.

Give these guys a follow and enjoy!

How long have you been blogging?  I started blogging personally back when my three children were first born. The oldest is nine now, so I would say eight years ago. I also did a lot of blogging for the Twilight Mums universe back then as well. For the book blog, I started in 2014.

What made you start blogging?
I wanted to start a book blog because I was reading all these amazing books and I wanted others to read and know about them. I also found that having the privilege of being able to read books before they were out was a super fun big deal!!! I love telling everyone about great reads that are coming out, as well as supporting new / and experienced authors!

What is it you enjoy most about being a book
blogger/reviewer?  Definitely getting to discover so much talent! There is soooo many books out there being published, and whilst I can't read every single book offered to me, or that I would love to, I absolutely LOVE that I am able to read and enjoy and then share those books with the world.

What is your preferred genre that you read/review?
I like contemporary romance.  I like paranormal romance. I like historical romance. I like MC romance. Love a good time travel story. I actually like romance *winky face* I do like reading all genres, except thrillers and horror. I just can't seem to get my head around those.

Favourite read so far in 2016:
Broken Juliet by Leisa Rayven and also, A Kiss from Mr Fitzgerald by Natasha Lester

Favourite author: This one is so so hard to give one fave author nod. I have authors I would drop and read right away, mostly J.R. Ward

Favourite book: My all time in the whole wide world favourite book is Circle of Friends by Maeve Binchy. I read it as a teenager over and over and over.

Where can we find you? When I'm not struggling with mature aged uni student duties I am posting at sydneygenreads.com and also on Facebook: facebook.com/sydneygenreads

Any additional comments? Thanks for having me on the blog!

It is no secret that I love this little segment on my blog, which is ironic because it is one of the only segments not about.. well me :) or my love of reading! But the reason I love it is because it shines the spotlight on the hardworking bloggers out there who do what they do for us authors because they share our passion for the written word.

So to my followers out there, show these blogs some love, and if you are a blogger who is interested in being a part of this segment - please email me :)

Enjoy!

How long have you been blogging?  Since the beginning of the year.

What made you start blogging?
Well Jesiree had this idea to share the books we love, Tamara Bex and I put our hands up and said if you want help we're in, and from there RLR was born. We're just readers who want to share books we love, be it new releases or books that have been out for a while. Reading is our passion.

What is it you enjoy most about being a book
blogger/reviewer?  Helping spread the word about new authors, helping launch new books by established authors and just knowing that people take that few minutes to read a review you've written. That while it wont always make them take a chance on a book, sometimes it does. The interaction with authors and reads is always fun to.

What is your preferred genre that you read/review?
Hmmmm there's a few, obviously romance, erotica, m/m, f/f, some NA and YA, dont mind me some dark reads to, loved Monsters in the Dark series, swoon on Q there, I'm personally not a PN fan but Bex enjoys it and we have a regular guest reviewer Mariah who love PN, we like to keep it diverse.

Favourite read so far in 2015/2016:
Oh come on 1? I can't do that to all the memorable books I've read so I have a top 5 happening and those are - Towards the Sound of Chaos - Carman Jenner, The Sound of Serendipity- Cynthia A Rodriguez, A Thousand Boy Kisses- Tillie Cole, Aced - Ella Frank & Brooke Blaine and Yesterday's Tomorrows M.E. Montgomery. I'm sure by the end of the year I will have a top 10.

Favourite author: Honestly I don't have a single favourite author. There's so many amazing ones out there, my list could go on and on. Some are big names, others are small indies.

Favourite book: Gosh, way to put a girl on the spot haha, hmmmmmim going to go with one that I always come back to and think about, always tell people about and that's Falling into You by Jasinda Wilder.

So my apologies for the lack of posts over the last month. Besides having my novel, Bleeding Love, being launched into the literary world, I have been writing and reading a TONNE!

So be prepared to be annoyed with many posts over the coming weeks ;)

It is no secret that I love this segment of my blog. I love bringing these amazing people (and their work) to my readers, as they really do so much for us authors.

Enjoy!

How long have you been blogging?  Since October 2015, so still kind of a newbie to it all, but loving every single minute of it.

What made you start blogging?
Reading's my escape, always has been and I always wanted to do a blog but never thought I could. I just love sharing anything book related, and meeting new friends so I thought why not, start a blog, You got this, so I did .... and it's been so much fun. I do it because I love it so much; not for the things I can possibly get from doing it. Having a blog, both my FB page and website blog, is a space where authors and such to share their amazing creations. It's the very least (apart from buying their books and reviewing) I can do for all the wonderful stories they've given me over the years, and continue to give.

What is it you enjoy most about being a book
blogger/reviewer?  I love the interaction with the authors, they’re all so lovely and they amaze me so much. I also love seeing all their pretties for blog tours and blitz’s etc, it makes me smile.

What is your preferred genre that you read/review?
I read anything, but I particularly love reading romance and dark books.

Favourite read so far in 2015/2016:
OMG just one, there’s so many. So many ... so pulling up my big girl pants to pick just one because I can do this, I’m an adult, well mostly lol. Porn Star by Laurelin Paige and Sierra Simone.

Favourite author: Oh god, are you kidding me? Ok, just one out of the many, Krista & Becca Ritchie as they write together.

Favourite book: Just one, OMG ... help! Ok, I’m going with Hothouse Flower by K&B Ritchie.

Where can we find you? https://www.facebook.com/BlissfullyBookerized/ & http://blissfullybookerized.com/

Any additional comments: Thank you so much for thinking of the bloggers, and for offering to do this. You rock and I really appreciate it <3

How long have you been blogging?
My first blog post was in June 2015 so about 8 months.
Picture
What made you start blogging?  I was reading about 2 books a week and I think my boyfriend was sick of listening to me talk about books so he suggested I start a blog! Before that I only used Goodreads so it took a little while to get the hang of it all but I found out quickly that I loved it.

What is it you enjoy most about being
a book
blogger/reviewer?  Can I say an excuse to read as many books as I like?! I get a chance to read books I would never have picked up before, I get to talk to Authors and the book blogging world has its own little community online so I get to talk to people who are as crazy about reading as I am.

What is your preferred genre that you read/review?
Romance - Contemporary & New Adult

Favourite read so far in 2015/2016:
For 2015 my favourite read was The Allure of Julian Lefray by R.S. Grey. For 2016 seeing as it's only January my Favourite book so far is F*ck Love by Tarryn Fisher.

Favourite author: I have so many but I read everything by Colleen Hoover, R.S. Grey, Jamie McGuire and Meghan March. They are too good to only name one!

Favourite book: Maybe Someday by Colleen Hoover. I can't help but re-read it every few months.

What made you start blogging?  I found a book through B&N and it had an interesting premise. So I purchased it. It was a sweet YA story. There were many great parts in it, but also things I thought needed work. I was the first person to write a review for the book on Goodreads and the author hit me up with a message asking for feedback. After a few exchanges I realized it was fun helping the author. Work in a Library my life already revolves around books so why not have a hobby that allow me to help in a different way. After talking to my husband for a bit, he was totally on board with the blog idea for me. It allowed me to have an outlet to talk about my books and not bore him every time I want to share stuff. It has become a hobby and passion. I enjoy writing, creating, venting, swooning over these books.

What is it you enjoy most about being
a book
blogger/reviewer?  I love getting to talk to authors and find out more about them. One reason this came about was because Ali Dean, a young adult author of the series, Pepped Jones, allowed some of us (her fans) to get ARC's in exchange for reviews. I was totally all over that. I realized though only writing my review on GoodReads and Amazon didn’t seem like enough to get the word out about her book. So I created Book Plus Heart blog and a new passion of mine formed. So to answer your question: Talking, exchanging and helping authors. Authors to me are like movie stars. I get so excited talking to them online. I hope someday I can get to some book events and meet these amazing writers.

What is your preferred genre that you read/review?
Most of my favorite books fall into these categories: YA Sports Contemporary; Paranormal specifically – Werewolves/ Shapeshifters; ANYTHING Pride and Prejudice adapted. Totally sucker for Jane Austen retellings.

Favourite read so far in 2015:
Well some of the books that I read didn’t come out this year that became my favorites, but I will give you the top 2 that came out in 2015.- Pepped up Forever by Ali Dean (it was the last book in the series and I was so excited)
- The Heir by Kiera Cass (Book 4 in the Selection Series)

Favourite author: This I believe is an unfair question. I have favorite authors for different genres... SO... Overall Austen! Hands down. That women knew how to make you laugh, cry, and smile with glee.Favorite…
New Adult author is Kaylee Ryan. I haven't spoken to her nor have I done an ARC's for her. I have purchased every single one of her books and I enjoyed most of them immensely.
Favorite YA... I can't there are too many. Ali Dean, Ginger Scott, Kelly Orem.
Historical Romance Lisa Kleypas, hands down!

Favourite book:  Again, How am I supposed to just pick ONE! There is no way. I can tell you which books I have read more times than I can count.        - Divergent by Veronica Roth
        - The Selection by Kiera Cass
        - Anywhere With You by Kaylee Ryan
        - Pepper Up by Ali Dean
        - Love in the Afternoon by Lisa Kleypas
        and OF COURSE
        - Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen

Where can we find you? At work in the reference department of downtown city Library. Oh do you mean like country wise? USA Virginia is where we are currently stationed. You can also find me at the park with my son or B&N cafe!

Any additional comments?  Thank you Kathleen for doing this. It was super fun. I am excited to read about other bloggers. What a great idea.
Thankyou for your time Traci! I am glad you could be apart of this segment!

The second edition of this segment, which is fast becoming my most popular! This makes me so happy as this idea started so I could highlight these amazing bloggers who dedicate their time to the literary world. As an author and a reader - I couldn't imagine this world without them and so I wanted to give them their opportunity in the spotlight.

Enjoy! :)

How long have you been blogging?

7 months and I am loving it!

What made you start blogging?

I started because I absolutely love to talk about books and characters and decided to stop boring my family and share my thoughts with the world and other like minded people.

What is it you enjoy most about being a book blogger/reviewer?  Making friends with other readers and so many authors. I pinch myself every time I have a conversation with an author, to me it is like speaking to a celebrity.

What is your preferred genre that you read/review?
I love Erotic romance and New Adult romance but will read some erotica.

Favourite read so far in 2015:
It would have to be Brave by Natalie Gayle, it so inspirational and off the charts hot!
Favourite author: Do I have to choose just one? There are so many but Chelle Bliss and Jo Raven are my favorites and my inspiration for blogging.

Favourite book:
Resist Me by Chelle Bliss, I absolutely love James and Izzy! They are both such strong characters.

I love inspiring readers to try a new book by a different author and I love helping authors get the word out about their books. You never know when you will discover your next favorite book and there is always room on a person's TBR list for something new and exciting.

Thank you for your time Catherine! :)

New segment... *Best ask the Book Blogger!*

11/1/2015

NEW SEGMENT ALERT: For both authors and readers in the written world, book bloggers are a special group of people who we both rely on and can not do without. If we were a family, they would be our parents. The ones who we ask for their honest opinions, who are there for us when we need them to, and who offer their recommendations and guidance. For this reason, I really wanted to do a segment to get to know them and understand why they enjoy blogging. Whilst I am really new to this 'author' stuff, I know that without their honest reviews and promotion - my debut launch wouldn't have been what it was. (SO THANKYOU!!  :)
So anyway, here is the first 'Best ask the Book Blogger' segment. If you are a blogger who would like to be featured, please feel free to contact me!
I hope you all enjoy it :)

How long have you been blogging?
Close to a year

What made you start blogging?

My partner Amanda and I read so much and were always reviewing books and checking out other peoples blogs we thought it made sense to see if we couldn't get something started of our own.
Picture
What is it you enjoy most about being a book blogger/reviewer?  Getting to interact on a personal level with the authors whether it is through twitter, Facebook, email or other forms of social media. The internet has really made it easy to reach out and ask a question or make comments to authors. And most, if not all authors I have come across have been completely amazing to work with (like yourself) ;)

What is your preferred genre that you read/review?
All judging aside, I'm on a huge erotica kick right now.  It's my favorite.  I also like romantic suspense, stories involving athletes - especially MMA or boxers... I go through phases

Favourite read so far in 2015:
Addicted to Sin by Monica James.  Good grief, that book blew me away.  Its a must read.

Favourite author:
Of all time?  Nicole Edwards. Hands down.  Followed very closely by Tessa Bailey.  If either of these two write it, I'm going to read it.

Favourite book:
Travis by Nicole Edwards and Asking for Trouble by Tessa Bailey

Where can we find you?
On twitter I'm @wickedgoodblog   Facebook is Amanda N Amber  or email me  aswillis4@yahoo.com   Blogsite is wgreads.wordpress.com  .... If you are actually looking for me physically, I'm in the middle of the US, on a cattle farm and relatively hard to find  ;)

Any additional comments?
This was really fun and put a smile on my face!  Thank you for having me on your blog, Kathleen! I appreciate it!

Thank you for your time Amber! :)
